Spring Horticultural Oil
Starting the Season Right
When it comes to controlling pests in the landscape, timeliness is everything. A spring application of horticultural oil can prevent pest eggs from hatching on your trees and shrubs. Hort oils can also address some young insects that have recently hatched. These applications typically take place between March and May, addressing pests in the early stages of their lifecycles when they will be most susceptible to control products.
Spring Deep-Root Soil Enhancer
Targeted Fertilization for Trees & Woody Shrubs
This targeted form of fertilization adds a nutrient-rich compound to the soil around your trees and shrubs. Spring applications are nitrogen-rich and will support new growth at the beginning of the season. For trees and shrubs that are not part of a naturally wooded setting, this application can supplement the soil in the way leaf breakdown and other composting organic material would in a naturally wooded setting. These applications are beneficial for stressed trees and shrubs and can help maintain the health and vigor of all plants.
Spring Insect and Mite Control
Big Control for Small Invaders
These foliar treatments are sprayed directly onto your plants to help control insects that start feeding in spring. Mites and scale insects are among the smallest pests your plants will encounter, but the damage they can cause is no small matter. Common pests include lacebug and psyllid leaf-miners, which can target trees, shrubs and broadleaf evergreens.
Summer Insect Control
Warm-Weather Pest Control
A continuation of the program that begins with spring horticultural oil, summer insect control ensures that your trees and shrubs are protected against pests in the heat of summer. Woody plants can become more susceptible to pest damage when temperatures rise and rainfall slows. By summer, many insect species have moved beyond the vulnerable stages early in their lifecycles, making summer control even more important.
Soil-Systemic Insecticide Treatment
Soil-Systemic Insecticide Treatment
Not all landscape insecticides are sprayed directly onto your trees and shrubs. Soil-based systemic insecticides are applied at the root zone and taken up into all parts of the plant through a process known as translocation. This long-lasting treatment option is a clean alternative for plants in areas where aerial sprays are not a safe option.
Fall Insect and Mite Control
Seasonal Control for the Smallest Insects in the Landscape
Similar to the spring application, insect control for fall insects and mites provides foliar coverage to address the smallest insects that feed on your trees and shrubs. By fall, many of the same pest species we address in spring could be in a different stage of their lifecycle. Mites, in particular, can be difficult feeders. Some mite species can have up to fivecomplete lifecycles in a single growing season. Since these insects are so often in an egg or feeding stage, addressing them with seasonal foliar insecticides gives you the best chance for control.
Anti-Transpirant for Broadleaf Evergreens Prone to Winter Damage
Cold-Weather Protection for Treasured Trees & Shrubs
Winter can be particularly harsh for your landscape trees. Water loss due to frozen earth, high winds and other environmental stressors can lead to tree damage or death later on. Anti-transpirant application spray a waxy film on your conifers and broadleaf evergreen shrubs, protecting them against excessive water loss in wintry conditions.
Fall Deep-Root Soil Enhancer for Shade Trees
Help Your Trees & Shrubs Gear Up for Winter
Similar to its spring application, deep-root fertilization takes place in the fall to send a focused shot of nutrients directly to the root zone of your trees and shrubs. Fall applications may be higher in phosphorus and lower in nitrogen than spring applications. In fall, these programs promote root feeding, at a time when plants are taking in the nutrients they will need to survive winter and start healthy the following spring. Like all fertilizer apps, these help to maintain the health and vigor of your landscape plants.
Fall Dormant Oil
Thorough Insect Control for All Times of Year
While fall and winter may not seem like the time to worry about insects, there are some species that require year-round control. Similar to its spring application, horticultural oil is applied to plants in fall to handle any straggling insects and prevent them from setting up shop before winter. Insects with multiple lifecycles in a given year require multiple treatments for full control.
